In Tyler, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Texas vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 amβ5 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (903) 570-3032. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, lonscylinderheadrepair.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 13 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Tyler and suggests consistent service.
Tyler is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in Tyler peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Tried calling to get a quote on some work for my cylinder heads, was a bit rude, talked over me, and flat out told me the work I wanted was out of his range. Will be using a different cylinder head shop in Longview

Lon is the man when it comes to aluminum heads! Even though he was overloaded with work, he was able to get me in and out in a timely manner, and the head is perfect. The car runs great! That, and he's super affordable! I bet he's the best in this part of Texas, if not further!
